The Eye Exam
The objective of our eye examination is, first and foremost, to prevent blindness or
serious vision loss. In addition, we take the time to carefully evaluate the eyes in
order to determine the most accurate prescription for glasses or
contact lenses.
An accurate assessment of the ocular refractive status is essential in a successful
result with refractive surgery. These are the reasons why we
go through a great deal of effort to provide our patients with the best care possible.
State-of-the-Art Equipment

We have invested in ophthalmic equipment to ensure accurate diagnosis and timely
treatment of most eyecare problems. We routinely perform the following:
 | Visual acuity measurements with and without previous glasses or contacts |
 | Visual fields evaluation for early detection of glaucoma, other eye diseases, strokes
and tumors |
 | Ocular neurological evaluation |
 | Computerized autorefraction |
 | Computerized autokeratometry |
 | Computerized corneal topography (mapping) |

 | Measurement of depth perception |
 | Evaluation of color perception |
 | Evaluation of ocular muscle coordination and motility |
 | Examination with a biomicroscope which magnifies the external ocular structures from 6
to 45 times |
 | Examination of the internal structures of the eye with an ophthalmoscope
and/or with the Optomap. |
 | Measurement of the intraocular pressure for glaucoma evaluation |
 | Assessment of the refractive status of the eye |

NEWEST TECHNOLOGY
We provide the newest technology - the Panoramic200™ Retinal Imaging System
which enables us to see nearly all of your retina usually without the discomfort
and inconvenience associated with pupil dilation. As a result, you will
not experience blurred vision or sensitivity to light following your eye
exam. Occasionally, however, dilation will be necessary to better view
certain abnormalities or if we cannot obtain an acceptable image.

 | Retinal photography |
 | External photography |
 | A-Scan measurements for intra-ocular lens implants for cataract surgery |
 | Dilated fundus examination |
Conditions We Treat and/or Manage (partial list)
 | Ocular consequences of diabetes and hypertension |
 | Corneal surface disease and dry eyes |
